Turk's Cap is a quintessential native Hill Country shrub featuring velvety broad leaves and bright red hibiscus-like blossoms that remain permanently folded into turban shapes. Immune to summer heat and shade-tolerant, its non-opening blossoms are specially tailored for hummingbirds and long-tongued butterflies, while its red fruit ("apple") feeds songbirds.
