Berberis swaseyi
Texas Barberry is an exceedingly rare native evergreen shrub endemic strictly to the Edwards Plateau of Central Texas. Featuring pinnate leaves with spiny holly-like leaflets, yellow spring flowers, and translucent red berries, it represents a protected Hill Country botanical jewel. Its dense spiny growth shelters wildlife, while its berries feed native songbirds.
