Muhlenbergia lindheimeri
Lindheimer Muhly is a majestic native Hill Country bunchgrass named after Ferdinand Lindheimer, the father of Texas botany. Forming large blue-grey fountains of fine foliage topped by silvery-purple plume seed heads in autumn, it is superbly adapted to limestone soils and severe drought. It provides winter structural habitat for songbirds, stabilizes sloping terrain, and offers dense cover for small mammals.
