Texas & Hill Country Notes: Eastern Bluebirds nest in natural tree hollows or nest boxes, producing 2 to 3 broods each summer in Central Texas. They drop from perches to catch grasshoppers and caterpillars on the ground, a foraging behavior called "drop-hunting."
